The Truth About The Publishing Business POD Publishing With Lightning Source You Must Invest In Book Reviews |
What Do I Write About? You may write the best fiction ever. Your mysteries may make spines tingle and have me listening for bumps in the night, and your romance stories may make hearts tingle. You might be capable of writing poetry that will make strong men cry. Well, I’ve got bad news for you. Chances are that nobody is ever going to pay you a nickel for all of that. If you want to write fiction or poetry, first make your money publishing nonfiction work for healthy profits. Then you can write your fiction or poetry as a hobby. Nonfiction, you say? But there is nothing new to write about! It’s all been done to death. Not true. Your interpretation on a topic makes it brand new! Yes, there are books out there on restoring classic cars, and starting your own business, and cooking, and everything else known to man. Those books are out there for one very simple reason. People buy them! And they will buy your books on the same topics too! So what do you write about? Anything and everything! What are you interested in? What are your hobbies or special interests? What do you do differently than the way everyone else does it? What have you experienced in life? Those are all the basis of booklets, books, and courses that you can publish and make money with. All it takes is some research, some time writing and proofing, and a very small investment in printing. And then a lot of hard work marketing. Everything is out there waiting for you to research, repackage, and sell… over and over again. Remember, if you take my work and publish it as your own, that’s plagiarizing. But if you take my work and the work of another author, or better yet, of three or four authors, and rewrite it and publish it as your own, it’s research! Your job, ladies and gentlemen, is to choose the correct information to market, to research that information, to repackage it, and to sell it at a very nice profit.
